Welcome aboard

Let's make Tab Pilot type its first message.

Five quick steps. The practice box on this page notices when Tab Pilot types into it, so each step checks itself off.

  1. Pin Tab Pilot to your toolbar

Click the puzzle piece ⧉ at the top right of Chrome, then the pin next to Tab Pilot. Its green paper-plane icon stays in your toolbar.

  2. Copy the practice text

This is what Tab Pilot will type for you.

Hi there! This is Tab Pilot typing into the practice box, one key at a time. If it makes a typo, watch it notice, back up, and fix it, just like a person would.
  3. Click into the practice box

Tab Pilot types wherever your cursor is on the page. Click inside the practice box, then leave it there.

  4. Open Tab Pilot and start typing

Click the Tab Pilot icon in your toolbar, then:

    1. In 1 Pick a tab, choose Welcome to Tab Pilot — tab-pilot-site.vercel.app.
    2. Paste the text into 2 Write your text (⌘ V).
    3. Leave Simulate human typing on and click Start typing, or press ⌘ ↵.

Chrome shows a bar saying Tab Pilot started debugging this browser. That's normal: it's how extensions use the DevTools Protocol, and it goes away when typing finishes.

  5. Watch it type

Keep an eye on the practice box. You can even close the popup; typing keeps going. When it's finished, this step checks itself off.
