Common questions

It isn't typing anything

Click into the text box on the page first, then start typing from the popup. Open Under the hood and click Inspect page: if it says nothing is focused, click into the box again. Tab Pilot can't type into Chrome's own pages, like settings or the Web Store.

Why does Chrome say "Tab Pilot started debugging this browser"?

That's Chrome's own banner, shown whenever an extension uses the DevTools Protocol. Tab Pilot only attaches to the single tab you pick, and only while you're using it.

How do I stop it?

Open the popup and click Stop. It stops right away and tells you how many characters it typed.

Does it send my data anywhere?

Typing, inspecting and screenshots stay on your device. The optional Humanize feature sends your text to Clever AI. See the privacy policy.
